A: The 8:18 to Plainview. B: The 8:18? I'm afraid you've made a mistake, sir. A: A mistake? But I take this train every day. And that's what my schdule says: Plainview 8:18. B: Oh, no, sir. The Plainview train leaves at 8:08. A: At 8:08? Oh, no. They must have changed the schedule. A greenhouse is a building made of glass which is used for keeping plants warm when the outside temperature is low. In a similar way, there are several gases in the atmosphere which trap the heat generated by the sun and prevent it from escaping. This is called the "greenhouse effect." When these greenhouse gases occur naturally in small amounts in our atmosphere, they are beneficial to us. Without them, Earth would be thirty degrees colder and human life would not exist. One of the biggest differences between men and women is how they cope with stress. Men become increasingly fucused and withdrawn while women become increasingly overwhelmed and emotionally involved. At these times, a man's needs for feeling good are different from a woman's. He feels better by solving problems while she feels better by talking about problems. Not understanding and accepting these differences creates unnecessary friction in our relationship. 1. A: How can I get to Australia? B: Take a plane. 2. A: I've been working too long. B: Take a vacation. 3. A: We never see each other anymore. B: Let's get together. 4. A: I have a headache. B: Take an aspirin. 5. A: He's been spreading terrible stories about me. What should I do? B: Get even with him. 6. A: My psychiatrist says I'm too cautious. B: Take some chances. --
