According to a source, the team on Monday waived Travis Outlaw, Marquis Teague and Elliot Williams. After trading third-year player Arnett Moultrie to the Knicks for Travis Outlaw Monday afternoon (see story), the Sixers waived the 30-year-old. Teague was acquired in a trade with Brooklyn last Friday. In the deal the Sixers also received a 2019 second-round pick. The former No. 29 overall pick is in the final year of his rookie contract. He practiced with the Sixers the past couple days, but it is possible Teague was never in the team's long-term plans. Teague has a guaranteed contract for $1.1 million this season. Williams was also in the final year of his contract, but it was the team's option. Williams played 67 games for the Sixers last season, averaging 6.0 points and 1.9 rebounds. Williams finished the season strong, scoring in double figures 10 of the final 12 games. His strong play continued this preseason.
