He will have some friends and family in the Arco Arena stands tonight. Barnes dressed for four of a possible 28 games last season, then was allowed to leave in free agency. He signed with the New York Knicks, was a starting forward on opening day, appeared in six games, even started five, then was summarily waived Dec. 3. In the meantime, though, Barnes invested some time with shooting instructors and has at least improved in that area; overall, he's shooting 45.2 percent from the floor this season, including making 8 of 12 as a Sixer. He's averaging 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds overall.
