If you ask people in NUS or NanyangTU, I don't think anyone can confidently
say they are better than NTaiwanU. NanyangTU's research just started. Even
NUS' also just started some ten years ago (they used to be teaching
universities). But they are growing very fast! They offer good stipend
for graduate students (S$2000-2500/yr).
And because teaching is conducted in English, they can access to the big market
of international students. Plus the S'pore government is still pumping in
research money....One day they will do better than NTaiwanU for sure if Taiwan
refuses to change.
