原文出處 http://goo.gl/6wvB Rovers from four countries work with community in the Philippines Over 30 Rovers from four countries continue to work with a community in Marikina City, Philippines on and this year project just concluded from 18th to 27th August. This CJK Project where CJK stands for Scouts of China, Japan and Korea doing a yearly exchange program with Filipino Rovers. As a group they involve themselves in a community project that promotes and strengthens cooperation and international friendship of the four countries. This year's General Project Officer Mr Kenji Takarabe from Japan explained that the project guarantees unique and wonderful opportunities for Scouts who want exposure to international environment. The Rovers served in schools in Marikina City through activities in primary health care, cultural exchanges and environmental awareness. Scouts of China gave entertaining First Aid in an elementary school and local community area. Japanese Rovers demonstrated proper toothbrushing method and Korean Rovers taught dietary education through growing herbs. An inherent method or practice in CJK is using International Patrol System which requires Rovers to live together during the project as one big family. In doing so, cultural and communication differences are reduced and they learn to accept and understand each other's cultural practices and English becomes the common language between these three countries. CJK Project started in 2003 and the four countries have agreed to continue their co-operative agreement until 2012. Next year, the group is eyeing to attend a Ticket to Life Project meeting that will give Rovers better understanding on the life of street children. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome join us!
