The early Roman calendar, which began around 750 BC, originally started with March. That made November the ninth month - hence the name, which stems from the Latin word novem, meaning "nine." Although changes in the calendar have made November the eleventh month, the name has persisted. In Old English, November was known as Blōtmōnaþ, which means "month of sacrifice," sometimes referred to as "blood month." That's because this was traditionally a time when the early Saxons slaughtered livestock and offered animal sacrifices. While that may be quite a dramatic introduction to this month, for you, Scorpio, it should be quite gentle and very auspicious.
