If you were painting a picture and made a mistake, you couldn't erase the paint. You would have to live with the flaw or you could paint over it. Similarly, a mistake is not the end of the road. You can't backtrack, but you can "paint over" and fix things. You may be feeling that way now. If you used your imagination on that painting, you could turn it into something far more beautiful than you originally had in mind. The same goes for a mistake that you made recently.
