So far as I am concerned, I personally don't agree with the statement, in contrast, I think through learning about the past can increase our wisdom when dealing about the similar things. To make my point of view much more clear, I will illustrate in the following reasons. First of all, everything we have right now is the production of the past, not only specific objects but also abstract thoughts. In short, the past is the foundation that the present build upon. Without the existence of the past, how can we enjoy the modern live nowadays? Without the sacrifices of people in the past, we might still be trapped in the Dark Age, or be frightened by the World War. Therefore, the past is the way that leads us to here we are, how can we not to learn the detail about it and be thankful to the ancestors? Second, there is a lot of wisdom hidden in the pages of history. There must be some dilemma we encounter and don't know what to do, while once upon a time, there might be another person who had the same experience, at this point of view, we could learn the possible solutions from these stories without to examine each one by ourselves, what's more, sometimes, it can provide you the solution that you never thought about. That is the wisdom of past. Last but not least, since our life time is limited, no one can experience all kinds of life in their lives. Therefore, by learning about the past, we can get the idea of what life would be like in different history stages or different country. By getting to know deeper in these aspect can make us more concentrate in our own ones. Therefore, I think that learning about the past has great value for us who live in the present. At the mean time, we should also be gratitude for the sacrifice and the progress the forerunner had made. Thanks to the past, we could have the modern life in the present. 初次po文，敬請多多指教。 --
