Is it more important to be able to work with a group of people on a team or to work independently? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer. Although to work independently is also an important ability, it is more possible to work with other people than to work alone. It is definitely more important to be able to work with a group of people on a team, because our society is build on the foundation of united. Since I was a college student, most of the teachers liked us to do group works. At first, I thought the teachers just wanted us to break the ice with other students. However, to my surprise, I found out that by discussing as a group, I could think of more ideas and inspired by my classmates. I could come up with some creative answers, which was the last thing I would imagine before. Team works are also common in most of the companies. By cooperating with coworkers, we can find out a better solution or a better idea efficiently. For example, says there were 30 pages of documents which were waited to be typed in computer. Each person can type 1 document in 1 hour. If one worker typed it alone, he would need 30 hours to finish the typing job. It did not seem to be a easy job, because he might get bored easily. But if 15 people typed the document at the same time, it took only 2 hours to finish all of them. It will be easier and faster for everyone, and they would finish the job before getting board. Besides, we can easily find out mistakes we made in the works by cooperating with people. I have a good experience about this opinion. Couple months ago, I wrote an essay about the business model of Walmart with my classmates. Each of us was responsible for a part of essay. The biggest challenge was that we had to write it in English, so it was a little difficult to us. The first meeting time, we exchanged our parts of the essay to check out if there were something needed to be modified, and everyone found some grammar or vocabulary mistakes from the other one’s parts. In fact, all of us had checked our parts of essay again and again, but we just can not notice some stupid mistakes like “You was” or “three merchant” in our own parts. It was really important to have somebody to do double check work. All in all, 3 normal people’s intelligent overcome one genius’.
