http://0rz.tw/8jmVx Giants activate Casilla, send down Runzler By Joe DiGiovanni / Special to MLB.com | 05/28/11 5:15 PM ET MILWAUKEE -- The Giants activated right-hander reliever Santiago Casilla from the 15-day disabled list before Saturday's game with the Milwaukee Brewers. To make room on the roster, left-hander Dan Runzler was optioned to Triple-A Fresno. Casilla was placed on the DL with an inflamed right elbow April 1. He pitched an inning on Opening Day in the Giants' 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. While recuperating, he pitched eight innings in seven rehab games for Class A San Jose and Triple-A Fresno. Last season, Casilla was 7-2 with a 1.95 ERA in 52 games. Bochy said Casilla would complement Ramon Ramirez as a setup man in the bullpen. "They both can be used in the sixth, seventh inning, or maybe help out in the eighth," Bochy said. Runzler was 1-2 with a 6.41 ERA in 18 games. Bochy said he will pitch in longer stretches, and maybe start, at Fresno. "He can work on his pitches, his whole game, the little things," Bochy said. "We can get him stretched out or maybe even start. We will give him time to do that." Burriss gets promised start over Crawford MILWAUKEE -- A day after hitting a grand slam for his first Major League hit, Brandon Crawford was on the bench for the Giants' game Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Manager Bruce Bochy said he was breaking one of his rules by leaving Crawford on the bench. Emmanuel Burriss started at shortstop. "If you hit a grand slam, you get to play the next day," Bochy said, describing his rule with a smile. "I had told Manny before he'd be at short today with the lefty going, but Craw's going to get playing time." Bochy said, though, he expected Crawford to start Sunday in the series finale against the Brewers. The new Giants infielder said he had more than 150 text messages from friends congratulating him after he became the sixth player in MLB history to hit a grand slam in his first Major League game. "It still feels pretty unbelievable," Crawford said before Saturday's game. Crawford said he talked to his parents by phone after getting the big hit. "They were just excited," he said. "They were listening to it on the radio." Crawford's grand slam an emotional boost for Giants MILWAUKEE -- Brandon Crawford's grand slam lifted the spirits of the Giants, who were reeling following the loss of Buster Posey earlier in the week, manager Bruce Bochy said. "There's no getting around it, we're having a tough time getting runs on the board," Bochy said before Saturday's game. Posey suffered his injury Wednesday night and the Marlins shut out the Giants, 1-0, on Thursday night. Shaun Marcum held the Giants scoreless for the first five innings before they got to the Brewers right-hander, capped by Crawford's slam in the seventh. "That's a big hit," Bochy said. "Especially since we were down and had just been shut out the day before. We're all still thinking about Buster. He's in our thoughts and we're going to miss him." Worth noting Manager Bruce Bochy said he likely will start Brandon Belt and Chris Stewart in Sunday's series finale against Milwaukee. ... Buster Posey's jersey remained hanging in a locker stall in the Giants clubhouse Saturday. ...
