http://0rz.tw/nGtUp Rowand exits with bruised arm after plunking By Chris Haft / MLB.com | 04/19/11 9:51 PM ET DENVER -- Giants center fielder Aaron Rowand left Tuesday night's game against the Colorado Rockies in the third inning with a left forearm bruise. Rowand, one of San Francisco's top hitters with a .320 batting average, was injured when Rockies right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez struck him on the forearm with the game's second pitch. Rowand later scored during the Giants' four-run first inning, then grounded out in the second inning before departing. Rookie Darren Ford replaced Rowand in center field. (果然是因為那個觸身球 = = 希望無大礙 QQ) Ross ready to be activated Wednesday DENVER -- Deciding that he wanted Cody Ross to feel refreshed as well as healed upon returning to the lineup, Giants manager Bruce Bochy opted to wait until Wednesday before activating the outfielder from the 15-day disabled list. Bochy pointed out that Ross, who strained his right calf in a March 23 exhibition game, performed in four consecutive injury rehabilitation games -- two at extended spring training and two with Triple-A Fresno -- through Monday night. Despite remaining officially idle, Ross rejoined the team Tuesday. "As much as anything, I want to give him a day to get acclimated ... just give him a day to take batting practice and give him a break," Bochy said. Ross maintained his usual upbeat attitude. "It feels great," Ross said of his calf. "I pushed it. I hit some doubles, scored from second base, ran down some fly balls. I tested it as much as I could. And I passed." 所以Cody Ross最快明天就能上場了 太棒了!!! Schierholtz earns another start for Giants DENVER -- Right fielder Nate Schierholtz started his second straight game Tuesday, which didn't seem like big news. In reality, it was quite a novelty. Schierholtz hadn't started consecutive games since last July 21-23 at Los Angeles and Arizona. Since then, he has remained an extra outfielder and pinch-hitter. But the Giants' decision to wait another day before activating Cody Ross from the 15-day disabled list, as well as Schierholtz's sharp 3-for-4 effort Monday, bought another day in the lineup for the San Ramon Valley High School graduate. In fact, Giants manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged that Schierholtz's success Monday "made the decision a little easier" to rest Ross one more day. Cain marching up San Francisco pitching lists DENVER -- Right-hander Matt Cain, who's scheduled to start Wednesday's series finale against the Colorado Rockies, is poised to entrench himself further in franchise pitching history. Cain needs 19 innings to tie Vida Blue for 10th on the all-time San Francisco list (since 1958) with 1,131 1/3. That statistic, said Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti, is more significant than many observers realize. "If somebody's pitching you, that means they trust you," Righetti said Tuesday. "They just don't hand them out. Whatever else comes because of those innings is a bonus." Cain, 26, already ranks among the San Francisco-era top 10 in three different major categories. He's sixth with a 3.42 ERA (Jim Barr is just ahead of him in fifth with a 3.41 figure), seventh in strikeouts with 916 (Tim Lincecum ranks sixth with 939) and eighth in starts with 173 (Mike Krukow's seventh at 182). Worth noting Manager Bruce Bochy said that he would wait until the end of the Colorado series to align the Giants' starting rotation for the weekend series against Atlanta, in case he has to use the bullpen excessively here in either of the series' final two games. Asked whether Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain realize that they might have to pitch on four days' rest instead of five, Bochy said, "They know the situation." ‧ Bochy had planned to rest shortstop Miguel Tejada either Tuesday or Wednesday. Tejada opted for Tuesday, which Bochy said had nothing to do with pitching matchups. On Tuesday, Colorado started ace right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, with left-hander Jorge De La Rosa scheduled for Wednesday. Mike Fontenot replaced Tejada in the lineup. ‧ Bochy said that he plans on installing Mark DeRosa in Wednesday's lineup. ‧ Pablo Sandoval's three walks Monday tied a career high.
