The hard-court tournament announced the withdrawal Friday, a few hours after the 2003 U.S. Open champion lost in three sets to Robby Ginepri in the quarterfinals at Indianapolis. Roddick didn't mention the injury in his postmatch news conference. He did, however, complain about the demands of the ATP Tour's crowded calendar. "This is ridiculous, the schedule we're expected to play, year in and year out," he said. "The last two years, I overcame it; this year, I didn't." After reaching the July 3 Wimbledon final, Roddick had two weeks away from tournament competition before starting the summer hard-court circuit in Indianapolis. "After consulting with my coach and trainer, we feel that it is critical that I have some recovery time," Roddick said in a statement released by organizers of the Mercedes-Benz Cup, which starts Monday. Roddick is ranked No. 3, and he would have been seeded No. 1 at Los Angeles. His best showing there was reaching the semifinals in 2002. He'll be replaced atop the seedings by three-time tournament champion Andre Agassi. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andy已經退出下週在LA的比賽 原因是右膝有點酸痛 在RCA的賽後記者會上 Andy對於受傷並沒有多提 只是在次對於ATP的賽事安排感到不滿 Andy說 這樣緊湊的比賽安排 他已經挺過兩年(去年還加上奧運= =") 直到今年 比賽的loading對於他來說 真是過重了 在與教練還有trainer討論過都認為 短短幾天的休息期間對他來說真的不足 唉.... 每到夏季硬地 我是很興奮沒錯 但是年年看Andy打這麼多比賽 真是幫他累.... 每年到了美網 免不了又要聽許乃仁說 Andy像超人啦~~體力多好啊~~ 奔跑了整個夏季 腳步都還多好之類的 Orz 我們的超人還是會累的... 談到輸給Ginepri的比賽... 輸贏就在那幾個不利於Andy的判決之上 "失去理智的Andy" 浪費了三個賽末點後輸球 真是無言 唉..... -- Go ahead, make your day If you build it, it will come!!!!! --
