As most of you know, the game we know and love as "Mega Man" is called "Rock
Man" in Japan. So who renamed it? According to this March 1993 issue of
Game Players magazine interview, it turns out it was then-Capcom VP, Joseph
Morici. Why? He just didn't like "Rock Man."

While I could see thinking that "Rock Man" is not the GREATEST name for a
Western audience, the change meant that as a kid, I didn't "get" what the
game was about for waaaaaaay too long.
"Rock Man" makes "Rock and Roll" easy to understand, and also puts Blues,
Bass, etc. into pretty clear context. Me? I just thought it was a great
game with some awesome music and random character names. Thanks a lot,

那這是誰改的名呢? 根據 1993 年 3 月份的 Game Players 雜誌裡的一篇訪談顯示,
是由 CAPCOM 副總裁 Joseph Morici 改的名字,
至於為何改名為 Mega Man 的理由也很簡單 -
"就只因為他不喜歡 Rock Man 這個名字" XD
