Bettis說，"這(到球場)就是我需要的。" 他在去年11月診斷出睪丸癌，手術拿掉一顆睪丸 後，原以為癌症已得到控制，卻在今年春訓時，發現癌細胞擴散到淋巴結。 : Bettis began chemotherapy on March 20 and has seven treatments left between now : and May 16. His blood counts will then be monitored, and if all is well, the : chemotherapy port will be removed. Chad在3/20開始化療，到5/16還有七次療程要進行。在治療的同時，他的血液數據 也會被監控。如果一切順利，化療結束後，就能移除人工血管。 (譯注:因為化療藥物對血管刺激較大 所以需要在鎖骨下方放人工血管，給化療用) : A return to the Majors this season is one of the goals for Bettis, who throws : after treatments, as he did on Friday, with head athletic trainer Keith Dugger. : Manager Bud Black was in a coaches' meeting when he heard a knock on the door : -- "and there was Chad.
