Dru Hill Set To Return With New Album, New Member http://0rz.tw/r7r2Q It's been close to seven years since Baltimore based R&B group Dru Hill released their last studio album. Entitled Dru World Order, the album went platinum making it the groups third platinum album. Throughout the seven year span much has happened within the group. Sisqo and Jazz released solo albums. Nokio took a more behinds the scenes career path, serving as an A&R at both Atlantic Records and Def Jam. And Woody took the more drastic approach and left the group completely. "Well, I mean the first thing is we're all creative people…after the last album we kind of went through some stuff with Def Jam," Dru Hill's Nokio explained to BET.com. "We're not with them anymore and I think that we just needed some time to regroup." After Woody's departure Dru Hill experimented with only three members, but found that the vibe just wasn't right. "We're back to four. It's me, Sisqo, Jazz, and the new member is Tao," said Nokio. According to Nokio, InDRUpendence Day, Dru Hill's upcoming album, will consist of an equal amount of old and new. "I guess we just took everything we learned overtime where we weren't together making records and just updated it a little bit," Nokio explained. Compared to seven years ago, the way music is currently sold has changed completely with the introduction of MP3 players and programs such as iTunes. And although illegal downloads have cut drastically into music sales Nokio remains optimistic. "It hasn't really been a concern as far as trying to sell records…Look at the 50 Cent, Kanye thing. I mean a million people downloaded both of their albums and they still sold a million records," Nokio told BET.com. "I think [that] if you make a product that people can love they'll get it."
