Dear RT: i am so happy to tell you about an article related the new Renju rule posted by killer (Tainan, Taiwan). the key point of the new rule is a little bit modified from the Sakata rule. it is as following: 1. the opener put 3 stones on the broad(2 blacks and 1 white, no restriction). 2. the returner can either put 2 stones(1 black and 1 white; no restriction), or swap to the opener to put 2 stones(1 black and 1 white; no restriction). 3. the other one can choose the side and continue in present playing rule. For this rule, i would like to say something: I. opening is a important process (like baseball or tennis, etc), both for opener and returner. (note: maybe some positions are sure lose after 3 stones) II. all positions are possible according to the present playing rule and 15*15 broad. III. all positions come from the RIF rule will not disapear. IV. people can also think about the rule for different levels.
