Drew's back continuing to be problematic, Red Sox manager Terry Francona said that no decisions will be made on the next course of action until the team returns to Boston on Monday. "He took a couple of swings and he spasmed up last night," Francona said. "When you say 'weigh options' though, there's really, on a Saturday in Canada, it won't happen today. Whatever determination we get to, I'm sure will have to wait until we get home." For the first time, Drew conceded on Friday night that time is starting to work against him. Still, the Red Sox will stay at it and see if there's a way Drew can progress to the point where he can be active for the American League Division Series, which would start on either Oct. 1 or 2. Drew last played for the Red Sox on Aug. 17. "It's dwindling," Francona said. "I don't know if I would say running out. It's been a long time since he played, but I don't think any of us want to give up. Keep plugging along." Drew suggested Friday night that he might take another epidural in hopes of eliminating the pain. Aside from Drew, the Red Sox also remain without third baseman Mike Lowell, who is resting his ailing right hip until at least the early part of next week. For Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Francona went with Coco Crisp in center and Jacoby Ellsbury in right.
