They worked out in the gym for 40 minutes prior to training on the pitch. They all exercised under the supervision of physical trainer Santiago Lozano in a mild session comprised of jogging and stretching exercises. "We look for the players to warm up in order for them to adapt easily to the first sessions with the rest of the squad," said Lozano, Metzelder and Pepe are in good form. They were training until very recently so these exercises help to keep them in shape. Torres and Soldado have mild injuries they got last season and focused on jogging as part of the final stretch of their recovery." Miguel Torres confirmed that the new signings are adapting well. "I felt comfortable with them. They seem less accessible when you watch them on the television, but they are very nice in person and I chatted with them. They are delighted with this new stage in their careers. It's nice to see new faces who are excited with the team's project and are willing to do a good job." "I was dying to return to work," said Soldado, who recently got promoted to the first team, "Not all of us here, but this is 'first contact' with the squad for me.
