The President welcomed Soldado into his office where they sat down to sign the contract, thus extending the forward's time with Real Madrid until 30 June 2012. Soldado has now fulfilled his dream of staying on with his all-time favourite team. Ramón Calderón congratulated him and told him to continue doing what he knows best: scoring goals in front of adoring fans. Soldado was also congratulated by Real Madrid Castilla President, Francisco Moreno Cariñena. Roberto Soldado joined Real Madrid when he was 14 after he left Don Bosco, and he's moved his way up through the Factory year after year. He was one of the major components of the Real Madrid Castilla team that was promoted to the Second Division for the 2005/06 season, where his 19 goals help the squad finish off a magnificent year to keep them in the category. That same year, he made his First Division and Champions League debut and managed to score in both competitions. With the hope of seeing more playing time in the elite division, Soldado was loaned to Osasuna in 2006/07, where he scored 14 goals –one in the King's Cup and another in the UEFA- and became one of the revelation players of the season. Roberto Soldado is role model for kids in the Madridista youth categories. Humble and hard-working, this predator in the box returns to Real Madrid to form part of the First Team. Soldado will be competing with Pichichi Van Nistelrooy for a spot in the starting eleven, or perhaps to form a great duo alongside the Dutchman.
