http://0rz.net/631zU Fabio Capello is poised to sign a three-year contract to become Real Madrid coach, according to the club's new president Ramon Calderon. The Italian tactician stepped down as Juventus boss on Tuesday and is primed for a return to the Bernabeu. He is due to arrive in the Spanish capital on Wednesday and Calderon, who was elected on Sunday, confirmed Capello's imminent appointment. "Fabio Capello is coming today," Calderon told Sky Sports News. "He's flying from Turin and he will be here this afternoon. "He will be signing a contract and joining the club today and will start working tomorrow with the first team. "Everything is all fine. He agreed with everything. It's going to be for three years. "I'm very pleased he is going to be here as he is a winner and it's very important in this time for Madrid after three seasons without any titles." Calderon insists he is not going to follow the lead of his presidential predecessors and will allow Capello to have free rein in deciding the make-up of his squad. He added: "I'm not going to interfere in their work. I think it's very important that professionals do their jobs without any interference from the chairman. "I don't think it's the right thing to do. In the last three years we did the opposite and we know, unfortunately, what the result is." The new Real supremo will leave a decision on the future of several key players to Capello, with Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and David Beckham up for debate. Of Ronaldo, Calderon said: "I can't say anything about that honestly because I have to know what Capello thinks about that. "From my point of view, he is a magnificent player and is one of the best strikers in the world." Veteran Brazilian full back Roberto Carlos has an offer from Chelsea to consider and Calderon is unsure what the outcome will be. He continued: "I don't know about Carlos. He (Capello) brought him here 10 years ago. "I'm quite sure he's very much interested in keeping Roberto Carlos. "I know also he has an offer from Chelsea. It depends on the conditions, it depends on how he's involved in the future of this club, there are many different things. "We have to wait for the meeting between Roberto Carlos and Capello." As for former England captain Beckham, Calderon insists the midfielder has a long-term future at the Bernabeu. "David Beckham is very, very important for us in any sense," commented Calderon. "He is a premium player, magnificent. "All the supporters are very, very much with him and he is very, very important in the commercial area. "I want to have him with us forever - at least the three years we are still with him."
