Nothing, though, has worked. Manager Ron Washington, as well as Hamilton, is hoping a switch in the batting order is the answer. Washington moved Hamilton, who didn't play on Sunday, from third to seventh in the lineup for the series opener Monday against Detroit. Hamilton finished 0-for-4 with a strikeout, two groundouts and a flyout. The move is not permanent, but might last a few games. Outfielder David Murphy, who entered the game with a .346 average with a home run and four RBIs since the All-Star break, batted third on Monday and will likely stay there until Hamilton moves back. "I think I've almost overanalyzed it all to a point," Hamilton said. "I was thinking too much and thinking I needed to get a hit because I hadn't gotten a hit in a while. When you do that, it just makes things worse. It's hard not to do, too, because it's only human. I just need to shut all the head games down by myself." Hamilton has struggled since being activated from the disabled list (right abdominal strain) on July 6. Entering Monday's game, Hamilton was hitting .203 with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs during that stretch. On the season, Hamilton is hitting .223 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs. "We need to give [Hamilton] a break," Washington said. "He's trying too hard. His timing isn't there and the only person that can fix that is him." The last time Hamilton batted lower than fourth was on Sept. 11, 2007, when he hit seventh for the Cincinnati Reds. Going into Monday, Hamilton had hit seventh in 11 career games – all in '07 with the Reds – with a .378 average (14-for-37), two home runs and three RBIs. Millwood day-to-day: Kevin Millwood, who left Sunday's game after two scoreless innings with a tight left gluteus muscle, expects to make his next scheduled start Friday against Seattle. Millwood said Monday he felt better and could throw a bullpen session today or Wednesday. "It's just a day-by-day deal right now," Millwood said. "I think it's just a minor thing and not anything major that will keep me out for a while." Over the flu: Everybody that was affected by the flu or flu-like symptoms the last few days is healthy, Washington said. Vicente Padilla, who was diagnosed with swine flu Friday, is scheduled to start today. Padilla missed his last scheduled start, Wednesday against Boston, but has been recovering well. "Padilla has gotten better each day," Washington said. "He was out there running and he's just an animal. I look forward to him pitching." Briefly: Chris Davis was not in the Triple A Oklahoma lineup Monday, missing the game with a bruised hip he injured when he ran into a wall, according to general manager Jon Daniels. ...
