Acta will be the third candidate to interview for the vacancy that came open when the Rangers dismissed Buck Showalter at the end of the season. Oakland third-base coach Ron Washington interviewed on Tuesday. John Russell, who managed the Philadelphia Phillies' Triple-A team in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, is scheduled to interview on Thursday. The Rangers also plan on interviewing Trey Hillman, the manager for the Nippon-Ham Fighters, after they are finished with the Japan Series that starts on Saturday.
