He combined for a 5.91 ERA and hadn't gotten out of the sixth inning in either of those outings. On Monday, the Canadian-born righty struck out five and allowed one run on three hits while taking a tough loss.On Sunday, he put any doubt to rest,tossing six no-hit innings and allowing only two walks , whiffing four along the way. His dominating performance earned him his first win in the Philadelphia system. Southern League Amaury Rivas, Huntsville 2-0, 0.69 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 BB, 9 SO Brewers prospect Amaury Rivas is blowing through hitters in his first Double-A season, and he's shown that he's building stamina with his two starts this week .After two fine five-inning starts, Rivas stepped it up with six solid innings on Monday, allowing a run on three walks and a pair of hits while striking out four. He followed up that outing with a complete game seven-inning appearance on Sunday. He walked three again and relented three hits, but the only run Chattanooga scored off him was unearned. He struck out five in the contest. After three Texas League starts, he still hasn't allowed an earned run. He delivered again Thursday with a seven-inning blanking of Arkansas, in which he struck out six and walked one, scattering five hits. California League Joshua Collmenter, Visalia 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K The Diamondbacks' Collmenter,who's back in the Cal League after posting an 8-10 record and 4.15 ERA there in 2009, may feel like he's beginning to knock on Double-A's door. He hasn't gone more than five outings in a start this year,but it's his remarkable tendency to pile up strikeout victims that's pushing his pitch count up. For example, facing Inland Empire on Saturday,Collmenter fanned nine 66ers in five innings of shutout work. Considering he allowed one walk and one hit, it was a pretty decent outing. Carolina League Michael Montgomery, Wilmington 1-0, 1.42 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12.2 IP, 10 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 14 K Michael Montgomery, another Royals hurler,claims the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week title for the second consecutive week. He fanned eight and gave up one unearned run on two hits and a walk in a no-decision against Kinston on Monday. In his next start, he threw 6 2/3 frames against Winston-Salem, allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out six to earn his second win of the season. Florida State League Austin Hyatt, Clearwater 2-0, 0.82 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 11 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 15 K The Phillies began 2009 15th-rounder Austin Hyatt in Class A Advanced ball in his first full professional season, and the 23-year-old righty is showing he can handle it. Striking out eight over five innings in his first start of the season, Hyatt held Tampa to an unearned run on three hits and two walks over five innings Monday. On Saturday, he struck out seven in six innings of two-hit ball in Dunedin. Although he issued three walks in that start, he allowed just one run and recorded the win for the Threshers. Midwest League Daniel Osterbrock, Beloit 1-0, 1.35 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13.1 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 14 K Twins prospect Daniel Osterbrock was roughed up over his 28 Midwest League games in 2009, ending the campaign with a 5.19 ERA. This season, thought, the southpaw looks like he's figured out Class A hitters. He tossed 6 1/3 shutout innings on Monday, and on Saturday he struck out eight in seven innings. He won the former start and took a no-decision in the latter start, having allowed two runs on five hits and a walk.
