[being with the Pistons] I've been an assistant, head coach, GM in the WNBA, the NBA is the best league in the world, I feel blessed to be in this position [where are the Pistons right now?] the schedule has been tough--March has been a brutal month, we had a really bad quarter (against Chicago) and couldn't regroup [Rasheed doesn't stay in the low block enough] I like to play a low post game because shooting percentages are better, when people are shooting after catching the ball from the low post position, because they don't have to turn or anything, the just have to catch and shoot, the least amount of motion the better in terms of percentages we really don't have a post player that's going to get double teamed, and I'd like to see that a little bit more, we emphasize that, but we really don't have low-block bangers to warrant a double team, so you have what you have and you live with it [Greg Oden compared to Bill Russell] why don't you get the book out and compare Oden's stats with Russell's stats that's a real stretch to compare him to Bill Russell [center position has changed in the NBA] it changed because they made such an important deal about making 3-pointers, so there's nobody playing now who played without the 3-point shot, and coaches in high school and college emphasize taking 3-point shots the game has gone to a small man's game, a lot of dribbling, iso, draw and kick, instead of running your offense through the bigs with drop passes, hook passes and stuff like that, and Chris Webber comes in and he starts giving you a little bit of that, and you go "boy, isn't that pretty to watch" that's what the game used to be all about, but what big man gets coached to be a big presence, because they always want them to kick the damn thing out to the little guy, and most coaches are small so there you go--it's a conspiracy [is it just Shaq now?] no, you've got Duncan, Ilgauskas, you've got some guys down there that can go to work, they don't have to be a five, they've got some fours, you've got the big kid Howard down in Orlando--there's enough around, but still even on those teams they don't get the ball as much as they would have in the old days [do you dislike the 3-point shot?] I started disliking it when I saw players that are on the court putting their hands up and signifying it was a 3-point shot instead of going to get a rebound--why the brought it in is they wanted to keep people in the seats, so a team could come back from a 15-point deficit midway through the fourth period a little more readily, and that means people wouldn't leave the game and they'd buy more beer and popcorn and stuff like that before they left they're more better smaller players than there are big players, so I think the rule goes to that type of person, and it did spread the game out--defensively, it's much more difficult to guard now because you have to guard 50 feet, before everybody packed it in, and you had to have some pretty good timing and some really good pick setting and precision passing to get decent shots--why take a 15-footer when you can get a 12-footer, when the whole idea was to get as close to the basket as possible now that's gone, the ideal position is to get a wide-open look from 23 feet [Amir] I break a player down, just fundamentally, what things can you do, and I'd look at the people that I'd play against and I'd break them down and just see what they could actually do as a well-rounded player Amir is build like a three but has to play four because he doesn't have a perimeter game he's a great athlete, he's really quick, he shoots good free throws, he doesn't have great shooting technique in terms of being a perimeter player, but he is so quick, he's a pogo jumper, he can finish around the basket, and he runs really well, so I think he's that type of a player, but I don't think he's a guy that could ever be a Rashard Lewis or somebody like that can spread the court and shoot threes, but can he be slasher and a good offensive rebounder like a Tyrus Thomas and those type of players? yes I think he's got some upside, absolutely, but in our game, he also has to guard fours, which means that he's got to bulk up a little bit and he's got to stay in front of people and withstand getting posted up as well, and there's the whole rebounding issue, and being to screen guys out, but I think because he's so young he'll fill out a little bit, and he'll be what he really is, and that I think is a four [Celtics] if they can get Oden, that's what they've been lacking to play in this game, to build something that's solid and lasting, you've got to have a good big -- 電影,因為有妳在我身邊而精采... 咖啡,因為有妳而香醇... 生活,因為妳而有了色彩... 生命,因為有了妳而完整... --
