As you don't have much time left, you can only push your dissertation as fast as possible. Even some results are shared by your works, tt should cause no problem at all for the PhD student. If there is anything relating to previous theses and/or dissertations, proper references or acknowledgements have to be given in the paper. By no means the senior student should ask you to suspend your work for this or their own sakes. Similarly, for your dissertation, you have to give references to the previous works related to your works ---- their papers and theses. For your supervisor's sakes, you should finish your work as soon as possible. The results are from your group; your supervisor will be always the co-author. A chance to undermine your supervisor is that you suspend your work and the PhD student spends too much time on producing the paper, and somebody publishes similar results --- You all are screwed! : 那碩士班畢業的論文會影響學長要發表的paper嗎?? : 我覺得學長好自私 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Indeed. Just do your job then. Don't worry of that. In fact, PhD should know how to organise labour and resources in a group. The first step to achieve this is always co-operation and trust among members.
