Hornets Trade For Williams The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets announced that they have acquired forward Aaron Williams from Toronto in exchange for second round picks in 2006 and 2009. 黃蜂用2006及2009年的第二輪選秀權換取暴龍的Aaron Williams "Aaron will be able to step right in and provide us with an inside presence off the bench," said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. "We've been looking for someone to help us to solidify our frontline, and he definitely fits the bill." 黃蜂的GM Bower是這樣說的：『Aaron能夠支援我們的板凳,我們一直在尋求能夠強化我們 前場戰力的球員,而Aaron正符合我們的需求。』 Williams, a 11-year NBA veteran, holds career averages of 6.2 points and 4.0 rebounds in 612 games. He had averaged 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds through 13 games with the Raptors this season. Williams,在NBA打滾11年的老將,在過去612場比賽裡,平均6.2分,4.0個籃板,本季替暴龍 效力的13場比賽裡,僅僅有1.9分,1.2個籃板的表現。 "Aaron played three-and-a-half seasons for me in New Jersey, so we're very familiar with one another," said Hornets Head Coach Byron Scott. "I know he's going to bring us leadership, rebounding and defense and he's already knows our offense." Williams has played for eight teams during his NBA career, but his longest stint with any club was in New Jersey from 2000-2004 (with all but 19 games played under Scott). During that time, he helped the Nets reach the NBA Finals twice (2002 and 2003) and enjoyed his best season as a pro when he averaged 10.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in 2000-01. The 2006 second round pick that the Hornets sent to Toronto originally belonged to Miami. The Hornets acquired the pick from Boston in exchange for guard Dan Dickau on Sept. 30, 2005 (the Celtics acquired the pick in the five-team, 13-player deal that sent Rasual Butler and Kirk Snyder to the Hornets on Aug. 2, 2005).
