Moochie Norris' 3-pointer with 3:13 remaining put the Knicks ahead for good and was part of a game-ending run in a 101-97 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets. New York (39-42) can catch New Orleans (40-41) for the sixth seed in the East with a win over Cleveland on Wednesday, coupled with a Hornets' loss to Washington. New Orleans had a 92-87 lead after Stacey Augmon completed a three-point play. But rookie Mike Sweeney answered with a three-point play before Norris took over. The reserve guard scored the Knicks' next seven points for a 97-93 cushion with 1:29 left. David Wesley nailed a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left to get the Hornets within 97-96, but New York went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line down the stretch. Norris finished with 21 points and Sweetney scored 16 for the Knicks, who rested Stephon Marbury after the first quarter and most of their starters throughout the game. New York's reserves contributed 61 points. Wesley had 23 points and Jamaal Magloire added 21 for the Hornets, who can finish no higher than fifth in the East. All-Star Baron Davis returned to the lineup for New Orleans after missing nine games with a sprained left ankle. He had 14 points in 27 minutes but appeared to labor on court. --
