[情報] 威斯康辛大學再進帳，蘋果共須賠5.06億美元 http://bit.ly/2uSmuYZ 蘋果（Apple）與威斯康辛大學旗下威斯康辛校友研究基金（WARF）之專利侵權案，2015 年10月13日，蘋果敗給WARF，被判賠償2.34億美元；而近日，2017年7月25日，美國威斯 康辛法院地區法官William Conley決定在此判決基礎上再追加2.72億美元，總計5.06億美 元。因為蘋果A7、A8、A8X處理器仍然侵犯該系爭US5,781,752（“752專利”）的3,5,6和 9項請求項，這給WARF帶來了額外賠償金收入。 本案起始於2014年WARF控告蘋果iPhone中的A7處理器侵犯了WARF所擁有一項「處理器電路 預測」技術專利US5,781,752，這一技術可以通過預測用戶即將給系統發出的指示，提高 處理器運行性能。 本案系爭專利US5,781,752 (Table based data speculation circuit for parallel processing computer；用於並行處理計算機之基於表格的數據推測電路)於1996年12月26 日提出申請，1998年7月14日獲證，由威斯康辛大學計算機科學教授Gurindar Sohi和他的 三個學生於1998年所獲得。事實上該專利權2016年12月已到期。 以下是法官對本案發出判決重點： AMENDED JUDGMENT in favor of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation against Apple Inc. in the amount of $506,084,992.66.
