Tucker to Undergo Arthroscopic Knee Surgery Tuesday After playing so well in training camp and in the preseason, Suns swingman Alando Tucker had his momentum put on pause when he was forced to sit out the first three games of the regular season with injured hamstrings. With the pain trickling down from his hamstrings to the back of his knee, team doctor Thomas Carter decided to take a closer glance at Tucker’s left knee. After checking it out, Dr. Carter decided that it would be best to clean out any particles floating around in Tucker’s left knee by performing a small arthroscopic surgery Tuesday. “He’s been bothered the last couple of weeks by some inflammation that didn ’t really respond well to rest and rehab,” President of Basketball Operations and GM Steve Kerr said. “Rather than risk it being an issue all year long, we’re going to get in there and take care of it now.” Tucker should be able to resume practice in a couple of weeks. With Tucker leading Phoenix’s summer league team in scoring as well as finishing third on the club in scoring during the preaseason, the second-year man seemed poised to make a run at cracking a rotation that eluded him last season.
