: Monday, Oct. 5, 2004 : At our annual team meeting to tip off training camp when I was a rookie : two years ago, I had to get up in front of the room, sing the National : Anthem and the Stanford fight song. Then, we had to read the whole NBA : rules sheet. 兩年前我還是新人時參加營前會，那時候我必須站在前面，唱美國的國歌和史丹 佛的戰歌，接著我們必須讀出nba規則的所有條文。 : Last night, the rookies didn't have to do anything. They didn't sing and : the coaches read the rules sheet. But, we'll make sure that the rookies get : something coming their way. It’s a long week. You don’t have to bring out : all the tricks on the first day. Actually, rookie Jackson Vroman breaking : his hand is enough punishment for him. He's got to sit and watch for the : next three or so weeks, so that's going to be tough for him. But we'll have : something else special for him eventually. 昨晚，那些新人們什麼也沒做，他們沒有唱歌，連規則都是教練們唸的。哈，但我們 一定會想辦法讓他們有點事做的(奸笑)，別忘了一個禮拜可是很長的阿，沒必 要在第一天就把所有技倆都用上嘛，不過，Vronman 這衰鬼倒是已經受了不少折磨了， 這老傢伙把自個兒的右手大拇指給搞斷了，接下來的三個禮拜他只能坐著看我們練球了， ，但我們還是準備了一些特別的來招待他。 : After the meeting, I went up to my room and watched some ESPN for a while : before I went to bed. This isn't a pleasure trip. We don't go out at night : unless it's a team function. I'll just sit in my room at night and either : talk on the phone to my wife or friends, watch TV or get a movie. Rest is : the main goal so I can come ready to play the next day. The first priority : is to make sure you have fresh legs and you're ready to go for every : practice. 在會議後，我回到房間並在睡前看了一會兒ESPN。這可不是什麼歡樂旅行團阿。 除了球隊的聚會以外，我們通常不會在晚上出門。我會坐在房內跟老婆和朋友通電話 或是看些電視或電影，對我們來說，休息才是最重要的，這樣我才能夠有體力應付隔天 的練習，我必須優先確定我有充滿活力的雙腿且準備好應付所有的練習。 : I know I told you in my past journal, but I'm a big breakfast guy. I love : breakfast and I believe wholeheartedly in that saying about it being the : most important meal of the day. Now, I would have loved to have packed some : of my wife's famous breakfast sandwiches, but they would have gotten all : cold and soggy, so this morning I got room service instead. It's not home : cooking, but it's still nice. I got some eggs, bacon, fruit and I had it : delivered to my door. Some guys wake up really early to walk all the way : down to the restaurant, then order food and wait there to get it. To me, : that doesn't make any sense when you can just check off what you want on : the room service menu and hang it on the doorknob before you go to bed. : They bring it right to you when you wake up. That's the way I like to enjoy : breakfast. 我知道我在之前的日記跟你們說過了，但我還是要重申一次"我是個早餐大食客" 我愛死早餐了，我也由衷的相信早餐是一天中最重要的一餐這句話。原本我喜歡 帶一些我老婆做的愛心三明治，但他們會變冷變濕，所以今天我決定叫飯店的早餐 ，雖然不是自己家弄得，但還是不錯吃。我叫了客房服務點了一些蛋、培根和水果。 有些人喜歡早起走到餐廳點餐。但對我來說，有客房服務幹嘛不用阿，當你醒來的時 候就有人為你送來早餐。我喜歡這樣享受早餐。 : Then it was off to our first practice of camp. We did some drills to run : up and down the floor. We're actually in pretty good shape. I've been : playing five days a week for the last four weeks, so I'm ready to run up : and down. 接著我們就進行第一項練習，我們做了一些全場跑動的訓練，我們的狀況很好， 在過去4個禮拜中，我每個禮拜都練習5天，所以我已經準備好了。 : Because we've been working out together informally for the past month, : everybody knows each other. If this had been our first practice together : as a team without that, it would be pretty strange, but we're past the : introduction phase. We know each other pretty well; as good as we can for : playing with each other for a month. We’re hitting the ground running : right now. 在過去幾個月我們一起進行練習，所以大家都已經認識對方了。假如我們今天才 第一次配合進行練習，那一定很怪，但我們已經可以跳過自我介紹這個階段了。我 們已經很熟了，可以在一個月裡愉快的一起練球 .我們正馬不停蹄。 : I'm looking forward to tonight's workout, when we'll really run up and : down. Everybody's going to really break a sweat. That's when the altitude : might get to us a little bit, when we're scrimmaging and just running, and : beating up on each other all the time. 我正期待今晚真正辛苦的練習。每個人都會滿身汗水。只有當我們進行比賽、跑動 和試著擊倒對方時，Flagstaff的高度才會對我們有些幫助。 對一個翻譯喜歡查字典的人來說..廢話一多就很煩XD....後面的也快好了..大家再等等 哈..終於快可以翻一般外電了...帥哥終於把日記寫完...天阿..可別叫勇太也寫.. 我不負責喔 --
