Amino acid is the basic unit of protein ( or polypeptide, peptide, dipeptide)
There is a amino group (NH2) and a carboxyl group (COOH) in an animo acid.
When the amino group of amino acid A and the carboxyl group of amino acid B
"come together", condensation occurs.A water molecule is removed, a
dipeptide is formed. The linkage is called a
peptide bond.
That is,
When the amino groups of one amino acid and the carboxyl group of another are
joined by condensation,a dipepitde is formed.
When many amino acids are joined together,a chain called polypeptide is formed.
So polypeptide is the component of amino acid.
