Jim O'Brien might not have been their first choice to replace the fired Rick Carlisle as head coach (Sam Mitchell and Stan Van Gundy were higher on the list originally), but they could have done worse. O'Brien at least has experience from his days with the Celtics and Sixers. The Pacers will need a steady hand if they are to get out of the mess they are in right now. 找到了老江湖歐比王，雖然他不見得比Sam Mitchell和SVG來的優，但也算 是教練中的好貨了。 ‧ Jermaine O'Neal backed down. After causing a minor firestorm last month by saying he would welcome a trade to the Lakers, O'Neal quickly backed off and said he would be just as happy to stay in Indiana. The Pacers surely are open to the idea of trading their All-Star forward, but it would only lower his value to have him issue a Kobe Bryant-like demand at this point. 小歐回心轉意，至少讓隊上還有個全明星。 What Went Wrong: 還很糟？ ‧ They didn't get a proven outside shooter. Despite a glaring need, team president Larry Bird was unable to find a reliable shooting guard with some range. Bird hopes free agent signee Travis Diener, who spent the last two seasons with the Magic, can fill the role. But Diener is only in his third season and he has never averaged more than 3.8 points and 11.1 minutes per game in his career. 沒有一個合格的射手，Diener也還太嫩。 ‧ They didn't trade Tinsley. After six years of waiting for Jamaal Tinsley to become a top-flight point guard, the Pacers needed to cut ties and move on. The veteran QB is just too inconsistent and injury-prone. With so many teams in need of floor generals, Bird should have found somebody willing to take a chance on him. 還沒弄走小汀，失望了六年，大鳥卻還不送他走。 GRADE: D Unless Bird has something cooking with the Lakers for O'Neal, it looks like a lost summer in Hoosierland. 大鳥太保守了，印城軍的暑假算是很失落。 -- 下面是個人感想： -- 整個中央組的評價最低，看來下個球季的Power Ranking會從第25名之後 開始起步.... 看來這個作家的功課沒做好，只知道我們簽下了Diener而不曉得還有Rush Graham和Owens三人，雖然我們也不曉得Rush的射手天賦有無因傷而退... 如果下個球季還打不好，我想小汀會是下一個被修理的對象了，因為球隊 真的不打滿意小歐被交易掉能換的到的貨色，而且明年的控衛新人應該不 少。聽說76人缺禁區，如果他們對大哈有興趣，我很樂意把他和小汀打包 去換A.Miller XD！ 希望莫大和小鄧在紐約的集訓是真的有成果，小歐、阿丹和大哈的復健也 真的有成效，然後歐比道長帶領我們送專家們去修眼鏡吧！ --
