Responsibilities: A Molecular Immunology research laboratory at Longwood area in Boston is seeking an individual to take a lead role in developing informatics resources that make research data more readily available to scientists studying chromosomal translocation. The candidate will need to utilize data analysis & management, and database skills to ensure all data is accessible and useful to a broad audience. The individual will develop and maintain the database, design new analytical tools, and coordinate data sharing with collaborators. The individual will work with scientists on several projects to support the development of software packages to analyze and integrate data from translocation experiments. Specifically, the individual will help develop Perl and R packages to analyze high-throughput sequencing data, develop computational algorithms, implement creative solutions for large volume data management, and develop processing that is reusable, computationally efficient and effective. Furthermore, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with good communication skills, who enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary team environment to help solve complex problems. Additionally, the individual will have the opportunity to co-author any resulting publications.
