And it was like, “He can’t even play in a straight line.” 「不怎麼好玩。因為在完成最後成品之前我們整整錄了三次，超辛苦的。這也讓我們瞭解 鼓手Tony根本就不夠格。那時候其實我已經寫好Morning Glory大部分的歌了，也包括 "Don’t Look Back In Anger"進到最後副歌之前那段過門的鼓，而事實就是 “他連那段都沒辦法穩穩好好的打”。」 Q: And…Morning Glory? 那《晨光榮耀》呢？ If I’d thought then that 18 million people were going to buy that album, I’d still be making it now. I look back and think, “What a privilege”. It was a wonderfully romantic time. We could go to the village pub for a game of pool, me and Bonehead. 「如果當初知道會有一千八百多萬人來買這張專輯，我可能到現在都還在錄製吧。 如今回頭看，我會覺得“這是多麼大的榮幸和特權啊”，那真的是一段美好而浪漫的 時光，我和Bonehead還可以一起到鄉下的酒吧，打打撞球。」 Q: Do you miss all that? 你會懷念那時候的一切嗎？ I miss those first few years up until Knebworth. Not in the sense that I’d like to relive them—I’ve done it once—but everything up to then was brand new. After that, the phone call came to be all about sales figures. I know what’s going to happen to me in the next five years, and it’s nothing that’s not happened in the last five. Before Knebworth, every day was new. I don’t even remember getting a hangover. I only have to look at a can of Guinness now and I get a fucking headache. When I travel to Wembly in a convoy of limousines in the summer, I’ll feel like a rock star. We’d sold four million albums there to that point, more than in England. We could have been bigger than The Beatles there. See, Liam ultimately thinks he’s unworthy of it, so he tries to destroy it. Raging fucking insecurity. I’m not insecure, I’ll sell it.
