Newcastle United will be without striker Michael Owen for the Manchester
City game after a scan revealed he had suffered a groin strain in training.
But the 28-year-old forward has a chance of being fit to play in the away
game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on 25 October.
"I think we're looking at between seven and 10 days," said Joe Kinnear.
"He won't be involved in the Manchester City match, but he has a realistic
chance of the derby - about 50-50."
