Souness said: "I think we dominated the game throughout, we've scored two goals but we're really a wee bit disappointed we didn't score more. "We had many chances and we only took two. The only thing missing really was our finishing. "They had to defend very well at times to stay in the game." He added: "Our attitude was spot-on. We asked them to make sure that they gave Tbilisi respect and they did that." Souness was delighted with striker Patrick Kluivert's performance, even though the Dutchman was not able to get on the scoresheet. "I keep saying we have not seen the best of Patrick and we will not see the best of Patrick until he has played half a dozen games in rapid succession," he said. "He can't be fully match-fit. Last year, he didn't play a lot of football and he has not played very many games back-to-back for us. "The difference, especially up front, is that half a yard. Create a goal, score a goal, make a goal, it's that half a yard. It's the final thing to come when you are a striker. "He will be slightly frustrated, but hopefully him and others are saving their goals for the next three home games, which will be far harder than this one." Striker Craig Bellamy, who scored the second goal, said every Newcastle player is fighting for their future under new boss Souness. "We know what is going to happen in January - we have got some money to spend and we want to do well in the team," he said. "It was always hard work but we kept a clean sheet, which was important.
