Nats' Rizzo talks Dunn, Flores; Marquis getting better Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo sounded like a man who does not want to trade first baseman Adam Dunn. Rizzo told the team's play-by-play broadcaster, Bob Carpenter, that the club is not looking to move Dunn before the non-waiver trade deadline. Rizzo said that if he were to trade Dunn, he would want lot in return. Entering Saturday's action, Dunn is hitting .285 with 22 home runs and 58 RBIs. "His name is not bandied about by us very often," Rizzo said. "I told people that Adam Dunn would be very, very painful for me to move. It would also be very painful for another team to acquire him. "I would not be doing my job if you don't listen to everything that is going on in terms of an impactful trade that could be made. You have to look at everything. But [Dunn] is a big part of the furniture here and I hope he is around a long time." Rizzo also said that catcher Jesus Flores continues to have problems with his right shoulder and the Nats have backed him off of his throwing program. Flores hopes to start cranking it up after the All-Star Break. Flores has yet to play in a Major League game this year and missed most of the 2009 season because of a right shoulder contusion. Flores hurt the shoulder May 9, when he was hit by a foul tip off the bat of D-backs outfielder Chris Young in Phoenix. Flores was in pain for several minutes, but remained in the game before being taken out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Flores was activated from the disabled list Sept. 4 and made two pinch-hitting appearances. However, he was sent to Alabama after complaining of shoulder soreness and ended up having right labrum surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews. Right-hander Jason Marquis said he will throw his first live batting practice Sunday in Viera, Fla. He hopes to start a rehab assignment soon. Marquis has missed most of the season because of bone chips in his elbow.
