Nationals GM Mike Rizzo said Sunday that Desmond has a legitimate shot of
winning the starting shortstop job, Bill Ladson at MLBlogs reports.
Recommendation: "I said this the whole time: We are going to play the best
25 guys that give us the best chance to win," Rizzo said.
"Desmond is in
the running to be an everyday guy. Money does not enter the equation --
if that's the question. Money has nothing to do with who is going to play
and who is not going to play."
Desmond is currently hitting .476 and leading
the Nationals in spring RBI, so he certainly seems to be doing everything he
can to prove he deserves the job.

大意就是只要Ian持續表現優良，教練會考慮讓這菜鳥開季直接先發
薪水並不是考量的重點
