His improved power looks real, but his.312 batting average doesn't look sustainable. FIPro doesn't see Diaz as a .300 hitter. In part, his 2005 batting average can be explained by an uncharacteristically high BABIP. Additionally, that was his second year in an A+ league so it isn't clear if he can repeat his performance at higher levels. He is very athletic and only 22 years old, so if he can continue to hit well in AA his future will start to look very promising.
