(1) @ChrisKirschner: For the first time, Aaron Judge told reporters he tore
a ligament in his toe. Previously, the team just said it was a sprain. Judge
also said he still has pain while he walks.
(2) @BryanHoch: Aaron Boone said he expects Aaron Judge to return this season
but stopped short of guaranteeing it. “That’s an absolute. I can’t say that
about anyone.”
(3) @BryanHoch: Aaron Judge: “I’ve got to knock out the rehab stuff. I’ve
had different injuries over the years where it’s going to take a while. It’s
not going to be perfect here in a couple of weeks. Once we can manage the
pain, we’re going to be in a good spot."
(4) @BryanHoch: Aaron Judge was asked if he is potentially looking at an
August return.
“I’m not giving you any timeline. There’s no need. I’ve just got to get
better and then I’ll be out there.”
(5) @BryanHoch: Aaron Judge: "I don’t think too many people in here have torn
a ligament in their toe. If it was a quad, we’d have a better answer. If
it’s an oblique or hamstring, we have answers and a timeline for that. With
how unique this injury is, and it being my back foot, which I push off of and
run off of, it’s a tough spot.”
(6) @BryanHoch: The Yankees' June team batting average (.193), on-base
percentage (.254) and runs scored (60) all rank 30th in the Majors.
(7) @ktsharp: Clarke Schmidt is the 1st pitcher in Yankees history to have
a 6-start span (min. 20 IP) with a sub-2.00 ERA and the team lost all 6 games
