He has shown good bat control and can drive the ball into the gaps and hit for power to all fields. Dominguez squares up the ball and has an advanced approach with a good understanding of the strike zone. The ball jumps off of his bat. He's also a smart baserunner with good speed. He's known for getting good leads and a quick first jump. He normally runs the timed 60-yard run in 6.3 to 6.5 seconds. On defense, Dominguez has shown good footwork and soft hands, and he takes good routes. He has a strong arm and his balls carry on line until they reach the destination. He loves the sport and has a reputation for being a "baseball rat" who is always working on a different part of his game. Don't be fooled by Diaz's stature, this teen can play, and he has power now with the potential for more in the future. Among his biggest assets are his approach at the plate and his good bat speed through the strike zone. He consistently makes hard contact and he drives the ball to all fields. Scouts praise his smooth swing and hitting mechanics. The teen is plus runner who has the type of speed that can make defense rush their throws. He has the type of baseball instincts that can turn an errant throw into extra bases. On defense, he has the potential to be an above-average center fielder with an above-average arm. He already plays with confidence and performs well in games. Diaz trains with German Rosario and participated in the Dominican Prospect League in Santo Domingo.
