Walk-off over Yanks puts Rays in first
Gross' RBI single in 11th inning picks up Percival's blown save

ST. PETERSBURG -- Gabe Gross delivered a game-winning single
in the 11th inning, scoring pinch-runner Jonny Gomes, as the
first-place Rays beat the Yankees, 2-1, on Tuesday night. T
he win marked Tampa Bay's 11th straight at home, and the first
time the club has been in first place this late in the season.

週二晚間，Gabe Gross在十一局擊出一壘安打，送回代跑的Jonny Gomes，
光芒隊以2：1擊敗洋基，站上美聯首位。這已經是坦帕灣光芒在主場的
十一連勝；也是該隊頭一次在球季已進行到這麼後段時，還暫居第一。
The Rays were just two outs from putting Tuesday's game in the
books two innings earlier when Hideki Matsui launched a solo
homer over the right-field fence, the first hit of his career
off closer Troy Percival. Percival is now 9-for-11 in save
opportunities this season, with both blown saves coming at
the expense of starter Edwin Jackson.
光芒隊在九局僅差兩個出局數即可結束比賽，但松井秀喜轟出一支越過
右外野全壘打牆的陽春全壘打。這是他生涯首度從救援投手Troy Percival
手中擊出紅不讓。Percival本季十一次出賽，獲得九次救援成功；唯一

To his credit, Jackson pitched a gem -- extending his scoreless
streak to 15 innings after blanking the Yankees through seven
frames. New York had chances -- most notably a pair of hits to
open the second inning and a Derek Jeter triple with one out in
the sixth -- but Jackson remained unflappable, fanning five Yankees
batters.
值得一提的是，Jackson 本場比賽表現優異，對洋基主投七局，一分未失，
已是連續十五局未讓對手得分。洋基隊曾有獲勝機會，包括二局一開始的
連續兩安，以及Derek Jeter 在六局一人出局時打出三壘安打。然而Jackson
冷靜異常，以五次三振解決了危機。
Through the first nine innings, the Rays' only run support came
in the fourth inning, when Eric Hinske delivered a two-out single
to score Carlos Pena, who doubled to open the frame.
在正規九局中，光芒隊僅在四局下得到一分，是Eric Hinske在兩人出局後
打出一壘安打，讓以二壘安打展開攻勢的Carlos Pena回壘得分。
Reliever Dan Wheeler pitched a perfect eighth inning, striking
out Jose Molina and Jeter.
中繼投手Dan Wheeler在第八局表現完美，連續三振了Molina和Jeter。
