A Preview of This Year's Free Agent Class (僅節錄洋基球員部分)
Part One - The Hitters
Jorge Posada (.329/.411/.528) is not only having what looks like a career
year but perhaps the
best offensive season by any 35-year-old catcher in the
game's history. Although there is no doubt that the Yankees want to keep
Posada and can afford to bring him back, I can't help but think there could
be an issue as far as the number of years involved. The Yankees will probably
offer two years with perhaps a club option for a third while Posada will
undoubtedly want three years guaranteed.

當然齁黑是很好 不過總有些該考量的因素
1.能夠一直保持健康? (從未進過DL這點也很神奇XD)
2.年齡?

並暗示Posada進HOF的可能性

Okay, here's something to chew over. Yesterday, another BB friend, Pete
Abraham, wrote a post about Jorge Posada. Pete thinks Posada is a "probable"
Hall of Famer. I'm not so sure about that--as much as I'd like to see it
happen, of course. Yeah, I believe that Posada is the third-best catcher in
Yankee history (behind Yogi and Bill Dickey), but I think he needs to have
another two or three very good seasons in order to be worthy of the Hall of
Fame. Just off the top of my head, I wouldn't rank Posada ahead of Ted
Simmons, would you? Discuss.
Part Two - The Pitchers
Mariano Rivera, who has made $10.5M in each of the past three seasons, will
be free to negotiate with any team in a couple of months. It's hard to fathom
him pitching for any team other than the Yankees, but I guess one has to at
least ponder the possibility. Like teammate Jorge Posada, New York can afford
to keep him if it so chooses. Unlike Posada, Rivera is not coming off a
career season. However, if his K/BB numbers (62 SO and 8 BB in 59.2 IP) mean
anything, he is far from done (despite an ERA which is the highest since his
rookie season in 1995 when he started 10 out of 19 games).
我想Hitters裡面的 A-ROD就無須再談了.....
