Dear grouting (global routing) contest participants,
I just released two sample (but much more serious) benchmarks at the global
routing contest website:
http://www.sigda.org/ispd2007/rcontest/adaptec1.capo70.rin.gz
http://www.sigda.org/ispd2007/rcontest/adaptec1.capo70.2d.rin.gz
http://www.sigda.org/ispd2007/rcontest/adaptec3.dragon70.rin.gz
http://www.sigda.org/ispd2007/rcontest/adaptec3.dragon70.2d.rin.gz
You'll find two versions per benchmark, 3D version and 2D version.
Virtually they represent the same problem instances, but 3D version uses 6
metal layers while 2D version uses only 2 metal layers with higher capacity.
I'd like to ask you to try these benchmarks and if you find any problem, let
me know as soon as possible. Since the real contest starts next week (please
see the tentative schedule below), it's important for you to let me know
within a week.
Please note that each pin's location is represented with real x/y
coordinates, NOT tile indices. This was intentional for the potential
detailed routing contest in the future. However, we realized that this causes
confusion and there exist differences between our output format and BoxRouter
format. Please follow our output format.
Then, what if two pins fall into the same tile? In this case you don't have
to global route these two pins.
Also, I'm going to only check whether your end point of global path (real x/y
coordinates) is in the same tile with your pin (x,y) tile. I.e., I'm NOT
going to directly check the equality of pin (x,y) and global_route_endpoint
(x,y). In other words, the evaluation will be tile-to-tile checking, not
pin-to-pin checking.
Also, these benchmarks include some extremely high fanout nets. If the degree
of nets (# of pins) is over 1000, you don't have to route those nets. Those
nets can be included in your solution file anyway, but those net solutions
will be ignored during evaluation.
Hope this clarify the issue.
The schedule:
02/12: two sample benchmarks are released
02/18: sample benchmark solutions and binary due
02/19: real global routing contest starts with 8 benchmarks. Also, evaluation
script will be released too.
03/09: contest solutions and binary due
If you have any question, please let me know.
Regards,
Gi-Joon
