Prof. Donald Kartiganer ◎ Donald Kartiganer is Howry Professor of Faulkner Studies and Professor of English at the University of Mississippi. He is the author of The Fragile Thread: The Meaning of Form in Faulkner's Novels (1979) and co-editor of Theories of American Literature (1972), Faulkner and Psychology (1994), Faulkner and Ideology (1995), Faulkner and the Artist (1996), Faulkner and Gender (1996), Faulkner in Cultural Context (1997), Faulkner and the Natural World (1999), and Faulkner at 100: Retrospect and Prospect (2000). He is also the author of some 30 essays on such writers as Faulkner, Eliot, Kierkegaard, Conrad, Kafka, Freud, Hemingway, W.C.
