Jo(Bloedchen) 是負責接待的專門人,大家請配配合Jo. 麻煩大家好好招待他啦! 以下是他的計畫 英文版 ------------------------------- Looking for Chinese, German and American conversation partners for international project "Seeing others, knowing myself" is the working title of a book I am writing in which I compare American, German and Chinese cultural values. Finding that we truly get to know ourselves and our country only when we step outside our own culture, I am looking for people (all ages, all walks of life) who have lived in a foreign country and who would enjoy chatting with me about what living overseas has taught them - mostly what it has taught them about their own country - and, perhaps, also how it has changed them as a person. Who am I? I was born and raised in Germany but have lived in the US for over forty years. For the past 20 years Hawaii has been home. Over the course of time I have spent a total of about four years in Taiwan, the first for language study in 1968 as part of a Harvard Ph.D. Program in Chinese History and Far Eastern Languages. Later I worked for various kinds international programs (refugee resettlement, Chinese studies, university exchange programs, international disaster management, etc.), but now I am dedicating my entire time to writing. I am now here for six months while my husband is a visiting faculty at Taida. I am staying in Taida faculty housing and will be in Taiwan through June 2006. Would you enjoy sharing your experience and insights? I don't do formal interviews; I just listen and ask a lot of questions. I take notes during our conversations, but I do not tape record.
