The rope specimens had no “dry” treatment. It appears that when wet, the ropes expand about 0.5mm in rope diameter in the knot and so lock up more tightly. Wet test with overhand knot on tape The wet test undertaken with the 50kg load (Graph D10) had significantly less “Tension”slippage(滑動量) than the dry (69mm verses 117mm).
