Miami Heat guard Chalmers stays positive amid slump HOUSTON -- Don't bother having pity for Heat rookie point guard Mario Chalmers, who is going through his first extended slump. Chalmers isn't feeling sorry for himself. He almost doesn't want to admit that he's struggling. ''You have to be really mentally strong -- to keep you out of the slump,'' Chalmers said after practice Friday at Toyota Center. ``[I] just look at it as one or two bad games, and try to come out of it the next game.'' Chalmers was held scoreless in two of the past three games, and has shot 1 of 13 from the field in that span. Until then, Chalmers had been considered the steal of the draft, when he earned the Heat's starting job after he fell to the second round.
