He ’s done security work for Michael Jackson, among others, and now works at New Orleans Pelicans games at Smoothie King Center. So what’s he doing wearing a Dallas Mavericks’ championship ring? In 2011, the Mavericks made a late-season trip to New Orleans and owner Mark Cuban, who had gotten to know Menzies through the years, was talking to him near the Mavericks’ bench. “I told Mark that day that they were going to win the championship,” Menzies said. “I asked him if they did if I was going to get a ring. He said I’d get a ring. And the man came through.” Menzies在今天賽前為大家解答了！ 在2011年時，小牛季賽最後來到紐奧良做客， 隨行的當然包括了瘋狂老闆Cuban。 那時Menzies就跟Cuban說：＂你們會贏的總冠軍的！ 到時候可以分我一個冠軍戒嗎？＂ 煞氣的Cuban當然說沒問題，他後來也實現他的承諾！ Cuban confirmed the story and said the ring is authentic. “I wrote the check for it,” he said. Menzies said he told colleagues of the promise by Cuban to give him a ring. Nobody believed it until it arrived about the same time the Mavericks got theirs on opening night of the 2011-12 season. “They asked if it was real and I said I insured it like it’s real, so it’s real,” Menzies said.
