Sanchez, who underwent right shoulder surgery, is scheduled to throw at least 100 pitches when he makes his next start Wednesday for Class AA Carolina. He threw 93 pitches Friday for Carolina, allowing two runs in six innings. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said, "it's possible" Sanchez could start for the Marlins on July 28 against the Mets. "Let him get through (his Wednesday start) first and see if he's OK and then we'll make decisions," he said. Sanchez has pitched 21 innings in four starts, one at Gulf Coast League, two at Class A Jupiter and one at Carolina. When Sanchez does return, it will be a big boost for a rotation that lost left-hander Andrew Miller, who went on the DL Friday with shoulder tendinitis. The Marlins will need a starter Tuesday and on June 27. There's a chance a reliever such as Mark Hendrickson or Doug Waechter will fill in until Sanchez is ready. Mark Hendrickson and Doug Waechter. --
